5 Types of System Cleaners and Optimization Software You Don’t Need! Part 2

We are back with the second batch of useless junk that infest a typical computer. If you have not gone through the first article, we suggest you do so at https://link3.net/5-types-system-cleaners-optimization-software-dont-need-part-1/ for better understanding of the purpose behind this article series.
Without further ado, these are the rest of the junkware you DO NOT want on your computer.

6) Solid State Drive (SSD) Optimizer

SSDs have become quite popular these days owing to the fact that are a lot faster than standard hard drives in the market. And there’s your opportunity for gold-digger scam companies to try and squeeze money out of us general unsuspecting folks. You wonder how? They claim that your SSD needs to be “optimized” every now and then by their software in order for it to function at optimal speed. Now let me drop the bomb. There has been NO evidence to support the claims of these software companies, and moreover, in order to do the things they promise, they require access to the drive which they don’t.

Then what do you need to do to keep your SSD in top shape? Nothing. Yes, absolutely nothing. Your operating system and the firmware built into the SSD itself by its manufacturer do the job greatly without bothering you

7)After-market Uninstallers

Yes, I know what argument you are going to make. Built-in uninstaller does not remove all files, right? Big deal! While it’s true, what’s also true is that the files that are left behind are few and very small in size, and most importantly, they are not significant enough to slow down your computer. Unless you install and uninstall programs in bulk daily, you can save yourself the hassle by sticking to the stock uninstaller.

8) Update Checker

You must have noticed that many of the applications you run on your computer require to be updated every now and then. If you noticed that, then you must also have noticed that there is not built-in standard updater or update-checker in Windows. Many software companies use this knowledge to market their update checkers, which are supposed to notify you whenever an update is available for your applications and help you update with ease. While such software was pretty handy once upon a time, they are not anymore. In fact, using them causes you more hassles than not. Why is that? Because almost all applications that require updates now have built-in update checkers and even auto-updaters. All you have to do is give them the permission to check and update automatically and they will leave you to enjoy your peace

9) Outbound Firewall

There was a time when there was no decent firewall to monitor your outbound network traffic, especially those originating from the numerous apps you ran on your computer. Many companies used this opportunity to come up with their firewall software and provided you this service. However, since Windows XP SP2, Microsoft has been including a very capable firewall in every version of its Windows operating system, thus leaving you with one less headache.

10) Full Security Suite

Antivirus software is a big necessity no matter how carefully you use your device. New threats to your computer are developed very frequently and an antivirus software helps you stay safe from them. However, almost all of these are always trying to sell you a complete security suite with more features than you can count. While some of them can come in handy, you can get those done by some of the free software available in the market. Moreover, these full security suites run so many services in the background to provide these fancy but not very needed services that they end up slowing down your computer.
